Program Information Eligibility

Students must have completed 12th Standard (HSC) from a recognized board for 5-Year Integrated Law Programs (B.A. LL.B, B.B.A. LL.B, B.Com. LL.B) in any stream (Arts, Science, Commerce). For 3-Year LL.B Programs a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university is required.

Duration

5-Year Integrated Law Programs (B.A. LL.B, B.B.A. LL.B, B.Com. LL.B) – 5 Years (10 Semesters)

3-Year LL.B Program – 3 Years (6 Semesters)

LL.M (Master of Law) – 1–2 Years (after LL.B)

Ph.D. in Law – 3–5 Years (after LL.M)

Law programs are offered under different types of institutions such as:

  • National Law Universities (NLUs)
  • Government Law Colleges
  • Private Law Colleges
  • Deemed Universities
  • Private Universities

Community Eligibility (Minimum Percentage – PCM Average)

OC / General– 45%
BC / BCM– 40%
MBC / DNC– 40%
SC / SCA / ST– 40%

Counselling Process

State-level counselling organized by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University for government law colleges. Entrance Exams such as CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) for NLUs and other private universities. Merit-based admission based on 12th standard marks for integrated courses and undergraduate marks for 3-year LL.B programs.
